Murray Statement on House Republicans’ Latest Attempt to Interfere With Women’s Health Care

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Today, Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, issued the following statement on the vote in the House of Representatives to roll back protections for Title X family planning programs.

“Millions of people have spoken out, marched, and made it very clear that they don’t want politicians turning back the clock on women’s health and rights—but this legislation would do exactly that, by making it harder for women in communities across the country to access birth control  and other care at providers they trust. If Senate Republicans bring up this damaging bill, they should know Democrats will stand with the women and men nationwide who are making their voices heard and fight back.”
