ENZI ASKS LABOR DEPARTMENT TO EXPEDITE MINE SAFETY REVIEW, WORK WITH HELP COMMITTEE TO PREVENT FUTURE TRAGEDIES


Washington D.C. – In the wake of the tragic events at the Crandall Canyon Mine in Utah, U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-WY, Ranking Member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee (HELP Committee), today sent the following letter to Elaine Chao, Secretary of the Department of Labor, requesting a thorough, expedited review of the causes of the accidents and how they can be avoided in the future. He asked that the Department keep the HELP Committee fully apprised of its findings.
