Chairman Alexander Statement on Secretary DeVos Letter to Chief State School Officers

WASHINGTON, February 10 — Senate education committee Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement on Secretary DeVos’s letter to Chief State School Officers clarifying the timeline and process for submitting their state plans under the Every Student Succeeds Act:

“Today’s letter is a good step towards ensuring that states have clarity and are able to follow the timeline they have already been working towards for developing and submitting their new state plans to get federal education dollars and start implementing new accountability systems under the Every Student Succeeds Act.”
