Murray Applauds Administration Action to Ensure Families Have Clear Nutritional Information

(Washington, D.C.) —Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray, (D-WA), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, issued the following statement on the Department of Health and Human Service’s release of final menu labeling guidance included in the Affordable Care Act.

“I’m glad that as a result of today’s announcement, families will be empowered with better tools to make informed nutritional choices. This is an important step forward for the wellbeing of children and families across the country, and I look forward to working with the Administration and all my colleagues to ensure this guidance is implemented effectively to support families’ health.”

Murray and Democrats called on the Administration to finalize menu labeling guidance and ensure families have access to clear nutritional information in a letter earlier this month.
