Senate HELP Committee Votes to Approve 6 Additional Trump Admin Nominees


WASHINGTON – Today, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee voted to approve six of President Trump’s nominees at the Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission. Under the leadership of HELP Chairman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), the Committee has voted to advance 28 Trump administration nominees.

“These nominees are vital to advancing President Trump’s pro-worker, pro-family, pro-patient agenda,” said Dr. Cassidy. “As Chairman of the HELP Committee, I am committed to getting President Trump’s team in place as quickly as possible.”

The nominees were advanced by party-line votes of 12-11. All nominations will now move to the Senate floor for a final vote at a later date.

The approved nominations include:

  • David Castillo to serve as Chief Financial Officer, Department of Labor
  • Brian Christine to serve as Assistant Secretary for Health, Department of Health and Human Services
  • Brittany Panuccio to serve as a Member, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
  • Jonathan Snare to serve as a Member, Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission
  • David Barker to serve as Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education, Department of Education
  • Mary Christina Riley to serve as Assistant Secretary for Legislative and Congressional Affairs, Department of Education
